If you’re a Black traveler, you might be looking for apps that cater to your specific travel needs. Here are some of the best Black-Owned Travel Apps that you should consider:

Airfordable 

Airfordable is a travel app created by Ama Marfo, an entrepreneur after an experience traveling home to Ghana as a college student, Marfo was troubled by the high cost of getting tickets and worried about accruing debt. Users can pay an up-front fee and continue to pay off their trip in installments before leaving for their flight.

Soko

the Farmers Market App, is designed to make going to the farmers market a healthy part of your daily routine. With Soko, you can discover local markets while traveling, connect with farmers and producers, get live notifications and updates, order produce, and pay using your mobile device.

EatOkra

EatOkra is a food app that helps you find black-owned restaurants in different cities. It’s a great way to support black businesses and try out new cuisines.

Blapp

Created by Jon Laster, Blapp is a mobile application that makes it easy for you to find and support Black-owned businesses wherever you go.

TravSolo

Made by entrepreneur Chizoba Anyaoha, this app helps travelers who are going on their trip alone feel safer. Serving as a planning app, TravSolo lets users map out their entire journey and share it with others in the form of a story.

Melanin On The Map

MOTM is the one of the first Black-Owned Travel App dedicated to minority travelers. Serving as a safe place for information, community and travel income opportunities, MOTM aims to change the face of minority travel.

Moovn 

Godwin Gabriel, a Tanzanian-American, started the ride-sharing app, Moovn, with the mission of economically empowering our communities and changing lives. It operates in seven U.S cities as well as Vancouver and three African nations — making it a great option for travelers planning trips abroad!

Traveling Black

Traveling Black is a travel app that helps you find black-owned businesses and events in different cities. It’s a great way to support black businesses and learn about cultural events happening in the cities you’re visiting.

Black Travel Guide 

Designed to facilitate travel for Black Travel, The Black Travel guide is for travelers of color to provide input as well. They highlight Black-owned businesses locally and internationally, in addition to being a tool for providing ratings and recommendations for your “Traveling While Black” experiences in non-Black establishments.

Backdrop 

This Black-Owned Travel App was developed by three young Nigerians—Timilehin Ajiboye, Damilola Odufuwa and Odunayo Eweniyi — looking to give a new face to travel apps within the world of technology. They hope to become the go-to travel companion and travel discovery app that helps our community explore the coolest, most underrated destinations in the world.In doing our research we had to pour some out for a few apps that seem to have fallen to the wayside.
